FUNDS

Contributions to the Temple’s funds are a terrific way to help the congregation and remember a special event or loved one. To make a donation, send a check with a note to the Temple. Some members find that for tax purposes it is more advantageous to donate appreciated securities. Contact the office for details.

 

Our funds:

  • Jack and Gertrude Adelman Facility Improvement Fund – Funds are used to make improvements to the appearance or infrastructure of the Temple’s interior.
  • Joseph and Elsa Adler Memorial Fund – Contributions are used to provide scholarships to Religious School students in need.
  • Art and Beautification Fund – Funds are used for projects that enhance the attractiveness of the Temple.
  • Biblical Garden Fund – Contributions are used to maintain the garden in front of the Temple, which features plants from the Bible. Money also is used for upkeep of the Sposeep Outdoor Chapel.
  • Ruth Brenn Campership Fund – Contributions are used to provide assistance for children of members to attend the Goldman Union Camp Institute.
  • Campership Fund – Contributions are used to provide assistance for children of members to attend a Union for Reform Judaism camp.
  • Endowment Fund – Funds go into the established Temple Endowment Fund. Earnings are used to meet ongoing needs of the Temple.
  • Floral Fund – Funds provide bimah flowers for the Sanctuary and Social Hall for special Temple services and events.
  • General Fund – Contributions help defray operating costs of the Temple.
  • Gold/Turansky Campership Fund – Donations are used to provide assistance for children of members to attend a Union for Reform Judaism camp.
  • Ryan Goldstrom Memorial Gift Fund – The fund is used for gifts for bar/bat mitzvahs, Confirmation and graduation students.
  • Hazemir Choir Fund – Monies are used to support the Temple’s volunteer choir.
  • Himelstein Children’s Library – This fund is used to purchase children’s books with Jewish content for the Temple library.
  • Holocaust Memorial Fund – Contributions paid for the sculpture in front of the Temple and have since been used to provide educational material for the community, both Jewish and non-Jewish.
  • Library – Contributions are used to purchase books and materials for operating the Temple’s Richard B. Safran Library.
  • Mansbach Campership – Donations are used to provide full or partial camperships for children attending a Union for Reform Judaism camp.
  • Kathryn Kann Mendelblat Cultural Fund – Contributions are used to help cover expenses associated with bringing cultural activities to the Temple.
  • Prayer Book Fund – This fund is used to purchase new books for congregational worship. Contributions of at least $36 are recognized with a bookplate specifying in whose honor the books have been purchased.
  • Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund – This fund includes contributions made in appreciation of the rabbi, often for personal services he has provided to individuals or families. The rabbi uses the funds for Tzedakah, special projects, or other congregational needs.
  • ReligiousSchool Fund – Monies are used to help support the Religious School.
  • Rose Goldman Memorial Organ Fund – Contributions help maintain the Temple organ.
  • S. Wyle Weiman Youth Activities Fund – Contributions support special youth activities, such as trips for Confirmation and high school students.
