Welcome to Congregation Achduth Vesholom ("Unity and Peace"). As the only Reform congregation in northeast Indiana, we welcome all those in our area interested in learning about and becoming involved in our activities. Our religious services blend respect for tradition with an openness to new spiritual approaches.
Since its founding in 1848, the Temple has remained committed to realizing and making relevant ancient ideals through the prism of contemporary times. We serve the greater community through many social action initiatives and over the course of our long history have built important bridges among a diverse array of civic, religious, cultural, and governmental institutions. We encourage you to contact us for more information, visit our facility, and become a part of our Temple family.
My affiliation with the Temple began in 1997 when my family moved to Fort Wayne from Midland, Michigan. We were drawn to this area due to a job opportunity for my husband, Eric, who is a practicing physician in the area. I became increasingly aware of the role all of us have to play in creating a stronger Jewish community once I became involved in the Temple as a parent to Religious School students, a teacher, board member and volunteer.
Volunteering at the Temple has been tremendously rewarding by enabling me to share in helping our congregation thrive and become like a family. With three children who have grown up in the Religious School, Eric and I have experienced the joy of watching them become more Jewishly informed and grow in their appreciation of our faith.
I hope you'll find the same sense of fulfillment by participating in the life of Achduth Vesholom.
