Outreach

Minimize

One of our goals is to help everyone feel comfortable at the Temple. We hope you will find a spiritual connection with us. We recognize the need to reach out to our members who may need special support and services in regard to intermarriage, extended families of intermarriage, Jews-by-Choice and children of interfaith marriages. We also hope to educate and sensitize others to complex outreach issues.

Reading material on outreach topics is available in our library and through links found on this page. Our rabbi is available to discuss conversion and interfaith family issues.

Introduction to Judaism classes are offered periodically to teach beginners the basics of Jewish thought and practice.

Introduction to Judaism Classes

Minimize

Introduction to Judaism is an 18-week overview of Judaism, providing a more extensive opportunity to learn about Jewish history, traditions, holidays and life cycle ceremonies. Participants will gain comfort and familiarity with the symbols, liturgy, music, traditions and Hebrew blessings that accompany Jewish celebrations in the home and synagogue.

Rabbi Cattapan will teach this in-depth course. Introduction to Judaism is designed for non-affiliated individuals and interfaith couples wishing to explore Judaism, as well as for those considering becoming Jewish. If you (or someone you know) are interested in taking this class, please call the Temple office at 744-4245 to let Rabbi Cattapan know. Classes are scheduled to begin in March 2012.
