Please note new date (rescheduled from November 2):
Share Shabbat and a Jewish-themed film with us on Friday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m., following an abbreviated service led by Rabbi Lenny. Our evening at the cinema for all ages includes a choice of two films, popcorn, and drinks.
Movie choices are:
- “School Ties” - This 1992 classic stars Brendan Fraser as a student who gets a football scholarship to a private school in the 1950s, where there is some anti-Semitism. Other famous actors getting their start here include Matt Damon and Chris O'Donnell. Rated PG-13.
- “Molly’s Pilgrim” – Based on the beloved children’s book of the same name by Barbara Cohen, the film tells the story of Molly, a young Russian immigrant. When Molly’s class is given a special holiday assignment, she shows her classmates the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
Friday night at the movies also will be offered in the spring. Thanks to Dave Flapan for coordinating the effort.
