The community Yom Hashoah - Holocaust Remembrance Day - commemoration will be held on Monday, April 16 at 7 p.m. at the Rifkin Campus at 5200. The guest speaker is Martin Goldsmith, former host of NPR’s Performance Today and author of The Inextinguishable Symphony and Alex’s Wake, will discuss "When Music Saves."

The program is sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne with support from the Dr. Harry W. Salon Foundation.

Goldsmith's first book, The Inextinguishable Symphony, tells the story of his parents’ experiences playing with an all-Jewish orchestra in Nazi Germany, as well as their lives as musicians in Baltimore, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, St. Louis and Cleveland. Learn how music helped protect them from the concentration and death camps operated by the Nazi Regime.
